Batteries should be replaced every 6 months or when the alarm sounds a low battery chirp. In addition, it's self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. Meets requirements of 9th Edition UL 217, UL 2034 4th Edition, and FCC. Does not meet requirements for CSFM.

It features enhanced sensing technology that reduces false smoke alarms often caused by cooking, and is comprehensively tested to meet the latest UL standards, including UL 217 9th Edition, UL 2034 4th Edition, and FCC standards.

The alarm is designed for easy installation, as it operates on 2-AA alkaline batteries (included) and requires no wiring. Simply mount the bracket onto the ceiling and twist & click the 5-inch smoke & CO alarm into the bracket. The voice alerts provide clear communication, stating "Fire!" when smoke is detected or "Warning! Carbon Monoxide!" if CO is detected, allowing you to react quickly.

The self-testing feature ensures the alarm is always operating as expected, though a manual push test should still be performed once per week to verify alarm operation. The 3 LED notifications indicate the alarm's status, with green for normal operation, amber for operating error, and red for smoke or carbon monoxide detection, accompanied by a loud 85-decibel alarm.

The test and hush button makes it easy to test the 5-inch combination detector and silence false alarms, should they occur. The alarm also comes with a 10-year limited warranty, which begins when the alarm is powered on. If the date is unknown, it should be assumed that the alarms should be replaced.
