This smoke and CO detector is equipped with enhanced sensing technology that reduces false alarms often caused by cooking and sends fast alerts, giving your family more time to evacuate safely. To detect carbon monoxide, an electrochemical sensor is utilized.

Designed for all living spaces, including living rooms, hallways, kitchens, and bedrooms, the modern 5-inch combination smoke and CO alarm is powered by 2 replaceable AA alkaline batteries (included) for continuous detection, even during power outages. Batteries should be replaced every 6 months or when the alarm sounds a low battery chirp.

Comprehensively tested and designed to meet the latest UL standard for safety and reliability, this alarm is self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. It is equipped with end-of-life notifications that will beep to remind you to replace it at the end of its 10-year lifespan. The Kidde combination alarm meets the requirements of 9th Edition UL 217, UL 2034 4th Edition, and FCC, but does not meet the requirements for CSFM.

The 2-in-1 detection feature alerts you to both smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) using a single, cost-effective detector. The enhanced sensing technology reduces false smoke alarms often caused by cooking, and the alarm is comprehensively tested to meet the latest UL standards, including UL 217 9th Edition, UL 2034 4th Edition, and FCC standards.

No wiring is needed for this alarm, as it operates on 2-AA alkaline batteries (included), providing easy installation. Simply mount the bracket onto the ceiling and twist and click the 5-inch smoke and CO alarm into the bracket. The self-testing feature ensures the alarm is always operating as expected, but a manual push test should be performed once per week to verify alarm operation.

Three LED notifications indicate the alarm's status: green for normal operation, amber for operating error, and red for smoke or carbon monoxide detection, accompanied by a loud 85-decibel alarm. The test and hush button make it easy to test the 5-inch combination detector and silence false alarms, should they occur.

Batteries should be replaced every 6 months, and a low battery chirp will alert you when it's time to replace them. The Kidde combination alarm comes with a 10-year limited warranty, which begins when the alarm is powered on. If the activation date is unknown, it's recommended to replace the alarm.
